Environment Support
An introduction to environment issues in the United States and throughout the world

Question: Should we be concerned about the environment?
Question: Will the planet we enjoy today still be here for our kids tomorrow?
Question: Are environmental initiatives the private crusades of special interest groups?
Question: Who benefits from environmental reform? Who suffers? Who profits and who pays?
These are the questions more and more people are asking as scientists, political leaders, business leaders, and concerned citizens consolidate viewpoints and clash over topics such as global warming, waste management, sustainable resources, and other environmental issues. As "buzz" about these issues inches its way into mainstream media, politicians and businesses take a stand on initiatives to either promote or ignore policies for environmental reform. As environmental policy becomes more politically polarized, the conversation about how to care for our planet becomes increasingly heated and regrettably stony, making the issues more convoluted and the answers more evasive.
At the heart of every environmental issue is the impact it has on the ordinary lives of ordinary people. Before making any decisions, or accepting decisions made by others, we all want to know the facts: Is the issue adequately researched? Is it really going to affect us? How will it affect us? When? Who is at fault? Where does this information come from? What can be done? Who is going to pay for it?
Almost everyone agrees that some degree of environmental policy is necessary. When it comes to sanitary practices, waste recycling, the adverse effects of pollution, and the responsible use of resources, most people agree that careless disregard has an impact and some form of accountability is necessary.
The difficulty comes when we are asked to make significant changes--often costly changes--to the way we live our lives, raise our children, or run our businesses. When protecting the environment comes at the expense of the free market, cost-efficient business practices, or the utilization of modern conveniences, policy pushers meet understandable resistance.
This website exists as an informational resource for issues regarding environmental protection, corporate responsibility, and sustainable resources. Although this is an environment support site, we recognize what is at stake in the controversy surrounding environmental issues and seek to address concerns from a variety of viewpoints. To narrow the focus of our research, this site will place particular emphasis on the following environmental categories:
- Global Warming
- Recycling and Waste Management
- Green Practices
- Sustainable Resources and Renewable Energy
- Environmental Organizations and Government
For each of these topics, we provide both articles expressing objective, unbiased information and editorial reviews representing a variety of viewpoints. In addition, we will provide profiles of political leaders, organizations, businesses, and individuals with environmental policies, practices, or campaigns that are doing something to benefit the environment. Finally, we will supply links and summaries of recent news and other information relevant to the issues.
